BUILDING, PERFORMING & EDUCATING WITH MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS MADE FROM TRASH SINCE 1991
LOOKING TO ADDRESS ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES LIKE CLIMATE CHANGE AND PLASTIC POLLUTION? FOR 30 YEARS WE HAVE BEEN A VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS RAISING THE ALARM FOR WHAT IS NOW THE GREATEST CHALLENGE OF THE COMING GENERATIONS.
Our school assemblies & programs and concerts & events have been seen by over 1 million people nationwide and around the world. We specialize in engaging kids and families on difficult subjects in a substantive and science-based way - all without sounding preachy. Our musical performances, workshops and school residencies are always fun, engaging, thought-provoking… and ultimately inspiring!
FOR OVER 30 YEARS...
We demonstrate how science can transform even the simplest stuff into cool-sounding instruments, and how you can make your own musical instruments!
Directed by the husband-and-wife creative team of John Bertles and Carina Piaggio, we feature a national roster of over 30 musicians and teaching artists, weaving together science, music and environmental awareness.
We offer a full range of services to schools, performing arts centers, museums, libraries and many other venues, such as performances, school assemblies, hands-on workshops, residencies, professional development sessions for teachers, and master classes for higher-education institutions.
